Bitcoin Cash (BCH): Lightning network created as a solution to a non-existent scaling problem- Roger Ver

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) supporter Roger Ver spoke at Anarchapulco recently. Anarchapulco is an annual conference held in Acapulco, Mexico which sees a large gathering of Voluntaryist thinkers and activists. While speaking at the conference he alleged that Bitcoin Blockchain’s scaling problem didn’t exist. He said that the Lightning Network was created for a problem that was intentionally created.

He further added that the Bitcoin community created the problem in the first place. The CEO of Bitcoin.com who’s also known as Bitcoin Jesus in the cryptocurrency community, is a passionate crusader of BCH. Earlier this month he had announced that they were working on a Bitcoin Cash based payment system.

Talking about Lightning Network, he said,

“Oh! we’re going to create the lightning network to solve the problems that we created in the first place on Bitcoin.”

When questioned by a member of the audience about his own experience running the Lightning Network on the mainnet 3 weeks ago, he said,

“Im a big Harry Brown fan and he talks about the government and he said that the government is like somebody that like, breaks your legs and hands you a pair of crutches and says, ‘see if it wasn’t for the government, you wouldn’t be able to walk and the same is true about the lightning network.”

Speaking about economic freedom and its advantages, Ver said digital currencies and Bitcoins will help achieve economic freedom. He says they’re the best tools the world has ever seen and they will help in building a better world. While there was some Bitcoin bashing involved, he more or less spoke positively about cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and their advantages.

A little later he brought up Bitcoin [BTC] share dropping from over 85% to 35%, over the past year. According to him, the Lightning Network isn’t ready yet for the big time. And he further adds that it’s more a case of ‘too little and too late’. The Lightning network, he says, will work faster, cheaper, and more reliably on BCH when compared to Bitcoin. And that he adds, is if in the future it is ready to be implemented
